We are approaching the end of our Tiny Forest planting season. Working with schools and local communities, we will have planted 147 Tiny Forests in urban spaces across the UK before the Tiny Forest planting season ends and the monitoring season begins. Watch the video above to see how it is to plant a Tiny Forest according to Year 6 students from William Torbitt School in Ilford, East London (you can also access it on
YouTube).
Tiny Forest is a is a dense fast-growing native woodland that reconnects people with nature, helps to mitigate the impacts of climate change, while providing havens for urban wildlife. For schools, Tiny Forest is a great classroom and a living science lab, allowing pupils to get curriculum-linked knowledge and hands-on experience while connecting with nature in their surroundings.
You can also visit our
Tiny Forest website to read more about our project, see if there is one in your area, and find ways to get involved as a Tree Keeper. On our
Tiny Forest x Schools page, you can also learn about Tiny Forest's benefits for pupils and educators and access our free learning resources that have been developed to support you in taking teaching outdoors, and into inspiring green spaces such as Tiny Forests.
