Quick Win Activities

These short outside activities are curriculum linked. They provide accessible ways to bring learning outside and act as a perfect way for educators to build confidence in outdoor lessons. For example, instead of a whole lesson held outside, you could keep a class outside after breaktime and run 1 or 2 of these activities with them, before returning to the classroom - helping outdoor learning to feel more manageable.

From connecting to nature, to learning about the science behind the ecological crisis, to becoming an agent of change, we believe that all pupils, regardless of their needs and abilities, should have access to outdoor and environmental education. The resources have been designed with SEND pupils in mind, reflecting pupils learning at Lower Key Stage 2 Level or equivalent.

Wild Days

Wild Days

This programme was launched in COVID. It provided parents with a means to connect their children with nature, when going outside wasn't an easy option. Every day for 6 weeks a new video was shared, lead by some recognisable faces.
The programme covers the themes of wildlife, food, water, soil, climate and shelter and features Earthwatch ambassadors including naturalist and TV presenter, Nick Baker, and Michaela Strachan, presenter of the BBC’s Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch programmes.

An example video here shows the start of Forest Week...catch up on every day of Forests Week for now!
